Hello! My name is Delmy. I hope you enjoy exploring my website.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with Spanish (yet!), the above translates to ‘¡Hola! Mi nombre es Delmy. Espero que disfrutes explorar mi sitio web’. Since 2010 I have had the privilege of being a secondary school teacher (in Tasmania and in South Australia). The main subject areas I teach are English, HASS, History and, Health and Physical Education to Years 7 to 10.

The motivation and inspiration for creating Gabriela Alexander, were in fact, Gabriela and Alexander, my wonderful children. With them in the back of my mind, I wanted to create something that for me is a labour of love and as a result I produced these books.

Having bilingual skills is important to me. However, when it came to finding Spanish activity books locally, I found it quite difficult. So, I have created activity books that are genre-based and story-based. Most of these are available in Spanish as well as English. There others that are only available in English.

I am passionate about teaching and fostering growth in children and young adults. Through my teaching experience, I’ve observed that when students are inspired to follow their interests, their enjoyment of learning significantly increases. Although this is just the beginning, I have a clear vision for how this endeavour will evolve to better support and inspire children and young adults.

I aim to explore digital art a little more to venture into other creative areas... stay tuned!
